Vrinda showed them the path through the rainy-season forest. Krishna and Radha walked together with the gopis. Kadamba branches bent over the path. Clouds brought freshness after the heat of the day. Birds and bees could be heard among the trees. The gopis followed their beloved companions. The forest was full of fragrant flowers. Vrinda brought them to the place of the swings.

The swings hung from strong branches. They were adorned with garlands and shining ropes. The friends had prepared their seats. They spread soft flower petals upon them. Then they laid thin coverings over the petals. Each swing had been made ready with love. Krishna noticed the most beautifully decorated one. Radha came and sat there with Him.

The friends stood on both sides. They gently pushed the swing back and forth. Others showered flowers over Radha and Krishna. Some straightened Their garlands and ornaments. Their singing could be heard between the movements. Krishna and Radha swung among the branches. Raindrops cooled the forest. The gopis watched Them with joy.

The flower garlands swayed with the swing. Bees tried to follow the moving blossoms. Leaves trembled above the company. Song mingled with the sound of rain. The swinging grew more and more lively. Krishna playfully made it go faster. Radha asked to swing more slowly. The friends carefully brought the swing to a stop.

Radha told the gopis about the game. Then She invited Lalita to sit beside Krishna. While they swung, Radha sang with love. Vishakha also received a place beside Krishna. The other sakhis joined in the joy as well. The friends took turns on the swing. Songs and laughter filled the forest. No one was forgotten in their company.

Then Krishna appeared in many forms. Each gopi could see Him beside her. He sat with His friends on the different swings. Every moment was full of closeness and delight. The gopis enjoyed His company. Their companions continued singing for them. The movement of the swings followed their voices. The forest echoed with their shared joy.

Vrinda showed them another unusual swing. It was shaped like a great blossoming lotus. Soft pillows had been placed in its center. Radha and Krishna sat in the middle. The eight principal sakhis sat on the surrounding petals. Other friends sat on the outer leaves. Everyone could be together on the flower-shaped swing. The sight delighted the whole company.

Vrinda brought ripe fruits for everyone. There were dates, grapes, and other sweet fruits. Radha and Krishna enjoyed the carefully prepared gift. Then the sakhis shared the fruits as well. The friends offered one another refreshments. Vrinda and Nandi pushed the lotus swing. Songs could be heard from every side. The shared meal prolonged the celebration.

When the swinging ended, the company went on. Krishna and the gopis visited the forest groves. Krishna noticed yuthi flowers beside the path. They reminded Him of Radha's smile. He picked several fragrant blossoms. He made a garland from them and wore it. The friends continued their walk with Him. The rainy forest remained filled with song.

This is a retelling based on the eleventh chapter. Vrinda leads the company to the decorated swings. The gopis prepare flowers and sing. Radha gives Her friends a place beside Krishna. Krishna gives His attention to everyone. The lotus swing gathers them into one company. Fruits and songs are shared with joy. In this lila each friend has a place.
