A gift for Radha was being prepared in Nanda's home. Mother Yashoda selected ornaments to send to her. She placed them carefully in a large decorated box. She wanted the gift to arrive safe and beautiful. Krishna noticed the box and grew curious. Its lid looked to Him like a door to a wonder. A playful idea was already forming in His eyes.

He asked what the box contained. Yashoda said it was a present for Radha. Krishna longed to see her Himself as well. But the watchful eyes of the household stood between them. Instead of giving up, He devised a merry plan. The finest present would travel among the ornaments. He waited quietly for a moment beside the box.

When Yashoda went away, Krishna climbed inside. He settled among the soft cloth and gifts. The lid returned to its place above Him. Nothing outside revealed that He was there. Yashoda called Abhimanyu to carry the box. He accepted the burden with great seriousness. He did not know whom he truly carried toward Radha.

Abhimanyu set out along the paths of Vraja. Inside the box Krishna listened to his footsteps. Fields and trees slipped away behind them. The carrier took care not to shake the gift. His caution only made the joke sweeter. Krishna remained silent as they crossed the village. Their journey ended before Jatila's house.

Jatila saw the box sent by Yashoda. She was pleased by her neighbors' regard. She led Abhimanyu toward the inner rooms. Radha was there with her dear companions. They looked at the richly decorated lid. None expected such a visitor to be inside. The box rested quietly before Radha.

Jatila wanted the gift opened properly. Radha drew near, and Lalita stood beside her. The friends gathered in happy anticipation. The box's golden ornaments gleamed in the room. Lalita raised the lid with careful hands. At that instant the real secret appeared. Krishna had been hidden among the presents.

Surprise brought smiles to all the friends. Radha could hardly believe this unusual meeting. Krishna emerged from the box as a cheerful guest. They heard His explanation with laughter. Yashoda's gift had indeed reached its destination. Yet what filled the house was delight. The small room became a place of wondrous play.

Lalita understood the cleverness of the plan at once. Abhimanyu himself had carried Krishna across the threshold. Jatila had guided the burden into Radha's room. Without knowing it, they had helped the meeting. The companions laughed at the gentle irony. Krishna received their amazement with a smile. Radha looked at Him with warmth and surprise.

Outside, ordinary life in Vraja went on. Inside, they retold how the box had arrived. Every step of the journey sounded funny now. Yashoda had thought of the ornaments she chose. Abhimanyu had thought he guarded a precious gift. Krishna knew that the meeting itself was the gift. The friends kept the secret of that play.

The account remembers the decorated lid and laughter. It also remembers Yashoda's thoughtful intention. Her gift became a path for Krishna to Radha. Joy reached her chamber unexpectedly. Lalita shared that happiness with the other friends. In Vraja even a box can carry a wonder. Thus begins the first astonishing meeting.
