Radha arrived in a garden of Vrindavan. Her beloved friends were with Her. Krishna was already near Radha-kunda. After a long wait They saw one another. The sakhis felt Their joy. The forest was full of spring beauty. Birds sang above the flower-lined paths. Bees circled fragrant branches. The friends gathered around Radha. The day continued with gentle play.

Radha went to gather flowers. She wished to use them for worship. She carefully examined the buds. A punnaga tree stood among them. Its branches were full of blossoms. Radha raised Her hand toward a branch. Her friends followed Her. Each noticed the beauty around her. The garden became a place of joyful service. Just then Krishna approached Her.

He asked who was picking His flowers. Radha answered Him playfully. She pretended there was no one there. Krishna continued with His questions. He asked who stood before Him. Radha wondered at His pretense. Did He not know Her, She asked. He acted like a strict guardian. The friends listened to Their words. All recognized the playful tone.

Krishna presented Himself as the flower guardian. He said He had to care for the forest. He joked that they were taking its treasures. Radha did not wish to agree with Him. She had come for flowers with Her friends. She sought them for sacred worship. The forest was beautiful and generous. Its flowers were needed for service. Each side found a new reply. The conversation continued with smiles.

Krishna spoke of the forest's inhabitants. He mentioned birds, trees, and flowering vines. In play He presented them as His neighbors. Radha and the sakhis saw the garden in their own way. They knew every path. They knew where the most fragrant branches bloomed. They also knew how to make garlands. Krishna listened and joked again. No one wanted the game to end at once. Their words became part of the lila.

Radha looked toward Her friends. They showed their support with their glances. Some held the flowers already gathered. Others tended the baskets. Lalita was ready with a clever reply. Vishakha also followed the game. Their friendship made the scene more lively. Krishna listened to each new objection. Radha did not forget Her task. The flowers still waited to be gathered.

The conversation moved between humor and admiration. Krishna described Radha's beauty. He compared Her to lovely things in the forest. In the flowers He saw reminders of Her. In birdsong He heard sweetness. Radha listened to His attentive praise. Her friends watched Their exchange. Each smile revealed closeness. Nature became part of Their conversation. The forest seemed to answer with scents and colors.

The buds opened in the warm light. Vines adorned the trees. Flowers were gathered for garlands and worship. The friends shared the work among themselves. They took care not to forget the offerings. Each sakhi contributed in her own way. One carried a basket, another chose a flower. Vrinda knew the beautiful places. Radha and Krishna were surrounded by friendship. Their game unfolded in the garden.

Gradually the preparations continued. The flowers were meant for further service. The friends rejoiced in their fragrance. Krishna stayed with Radha and the sakhis. Their playful words were remembered. But the care behind the joke mattered more. No one was a distant observer. All took part in the beauty of the moment. The garden received their footsteps. And the lila continued in Vrindavan.

In Govinda-lilamrita Radha gathers flowers. Krishna pretends to be the forest guardian. She and Her friends answer Him cleverly. Their words are filled with love. The punnaga tree stands within the scene. Buds adorn the garden. The sakhis help with the gathering. The flowers become offerings for worship. Playfulness accompanies their service. Thus ends this retelling.
