A sakhi brings Krishna's message to Radha in a moonlit garden
Уметничка илустрација приче

Radha sat in the flowering shelter. Her sakhi saw Her sorrow. Separation had made the forest different. Even the moon seemed distant to Her. The breeze carried the scent of flowers. But Radha thought of absent Krishna. Her friend remained beside Her. She listened to both words and silence. She wished to help with tenderness. So she went to seek Krishna.

She found Him by the Yamuna's bank. He sat in the shade of a vine. His gaze was fixed upon the path. He carried Radha in His heart. The sakhi approached quietly. Krishna recognized Radha's friend. He saw hope in her arrival. But before He could ask a question, she began to speak to Him. She described Her dear friend's sorrow.

“Radha thinks of You often,” the sakhi said. “Separation has taken away Her comfort.” What had once brought coolness now reminded Her of His absence. The moonlight made Her restless. And the fragrant breeze awakened Her longing. The friend did not conceal Her pain. Nor did she treat it as a small thing. Her words came from care. Krishna listened attentively.

Every word brought Radha's heart closer to Him. He knew His own sorrow too. But now He listened to Hers. He did not ask the sakhi to choose sides. She stood there out of love for both. Her honesty was a gift. Krishna asked her to return to Radha. He would remain in the garden by the river. Let Her know He was waiting. And invite Her to come if She wished.

The friend set out along the forest path. The evening air accompanied her. Leaves touched the light of the moon. Every step brought her closer to Radha. She thought about how to carry the message. She did not want to pressure her friend. Nor diminish Her sorrow. She would tell Her what she saw in Krishna. And leave Her room to choose for Herself. With that intention she reached the flowering bower.

Radha looked up as she returned. The sakhi sat beside Her. “I saw Krishna by the Yamuna,” she said. “He too is longing for You.” She told Her how He waited in the forest. How the distance between them hurt Him. How dear Her name was to Him. And how He wished to see Her again. Then she shared His invitation. Radha listened to her words.

The scent of flowers filled the air. Bees hummed above them. The sakhi knew even those sounds could awaken Krishna's longing. She described His waiting to Her. She described the forest where He stayed. Radha felt both tenderness and hesitation. Her sorrow did not vanish at once. But She knew She was not forgotten. Her friend remained beside Her.

“Listen to Your heart,” she said gently. “I will be here with You.” Radha looked toward the distant path. It led through the trees to the Yamuna. At the other end Krishna waited. Between them lay memories and pain. But now there was a message too. Its words opened a possibility. Their meeting was not yet complete. There was still room for honest conversation.

In the poem the sakhi travels between them. She describes Radha's sorrow to Krishna. Then she returns with His invitation. She bears witness to both their longings. Her role is full of care. The song brings the separate voices together. Moon and breeze accompany her on the path. The river remains a place of waiting. Friendship becomes a gentle connection. And hope wakes again in the garden.

This is a literary retelling of chapters four and five. The additional words are imagined elaborations. The source can be read through the link. Radha continues to carry Her feelings. Krishna continues to wait for Her. The sakhi honors the love of both. Her message does not end the conversation. It opens a path toward it. In the silence the Yamuna can be heard. And the path remains lit by the moon.
