After the morning reproach Radha remained thoughtful. Her heart still carried the conversation. Krishna was within Her thoughts again. But Her pain had not been resolved. She remembered His words. Then again the night She had spent alone. Love and displeasure alternated within Her. Neither feeling was simple. The sakhi noticed Her restlessness. Now the time had come for her to speak too.

The friend addressed Radha. Her words offered more than comfort. She also wished to encourage Her. In the song she tells Her not to reject Madhava. His arrival offered a possibility of renewed closeness. The sakhi knew the strength of Her longing. She knew Radha had not become indifferent. That was why she spoke so directly. Her voice belonged within their close friendship. The advice came from someone who knew Her.

The breeze passed through the flowering branches. The poem joins its movement with Krishna's approach. Something in the landscape was opening again. But Radha was still enclosed within pain. The sakhi directed Her gaze toward possibility. That Madhava wished to come closer to Her. That the conversation need not remain unfinished. That a meeting could follow separation. It was an invitation to feel the other voice too. Without forgetting Her own heart.

The friend reminded Her of Krishna's charm. Of the beauty so dear to Radha. Of the gaze She had searched for all night. Of the music remaining in Her memories. These images were not foreign to Radha. They already lived within Her. The sakhi simply brought them close again. She placed them beside the difficult thoughts. Thus tender memories entered the conversation too. The heart received more than one picture before it.

But the advice was more than a description of beauty. The friend also spoke about turning away. About how renewed rejection prolonged the unrest. About the desire remaining after the quarrel. She encouraged Radha to reflect. Did She wish the whole conversation to end in reproach? Or did She still carry a wish to meet Him? The questions here belong to our retelling. They develop the sakhi's appeal within the poem. Not to turn away beloved Madhava.

Within the poetic world this state has its own name. It is loving displeasure accompanying separation. Its shades cannot be reduced to ordinary anger. Radha loves Krishna even while reproaching Him. She feels distance even when He comes. The sakhi speaks within that closeness. Her counsel is one of the voices in the song. Radha's voice remains equally important. Jayadeva allows the feelings to meet. Their exchange carries the story further.

The friend returned to Madhava again. As though her words had a refrain of their own. She did not wish Radha to remain alone in unrest. She encouraged Her to consider the possibility of joy. Not to let the conversation bring only pain. To hear the call toward renewed closeness. In our imagined scene her voice is sincere. Sometimes gentle, sometimes firmer. Because she too is deeply involved. In the well-being of her beloved friend.

Radha listened to the sakhi. Her feelings did not change in an instant. The memory of the night was still present. But Her desire for Krishna was present too. In the conversation She could hear both. She did not have to find perfect words at once. She could first notice Her own hope. The hope remaining after the difficult reproach. The sakhi accompanied Her in that reflection. The forest received their two voices again.

This conversation bridges the following chapters. In them Krishna addresses Radha again. Then the poem gradually leads Her toward meeting. The sakhi does not replace Their exchange. She only opens room for it to continue. Radha remains with Her depth of feeling. Krishna remains the one for whom She longs. Faithful friendship also exists between Them. It carries words through separation. And accompanies the hope for reconciliation.

This is a literary retelling of the ninth chapter. In it the sakhi addresses Radha. She encourages Her not to reject Madhava. The additional conversations are imagined elaborations. The text is not a literal translation of the poem. The source chapter can be opened through the link. The scene belongs to Jayadeva's poetic sequence. Love, displeasure, and longing remain connected. And the sakhi's care accompanies Radha. On the path toward meeting Krishna again.
