While tending the cows, the cowherd boys smelled ripe fruits in the palm grove of Talavana. They told Krishna and Balarama how much they wanted to taste them, but no one dared enter: the dangerous Dhenukasura guarded the place.

Balarama entered the grove and shook the palms. Fruit fell with a loud sound, and Dhenukasura, in the form of a donkey, rushed at Him. Balarama overcame him; when other attackers arrived, Krishna and Balarama freed the grove from danger.

Afterward the people could enter Talavana again and enjoy its fruits. What began as a child's wish for a sweet bite became a story of protection, friendship, and the gift of sharing something good with everyone.
