A long time had passed since Krishna left Vraja. Nanda and Yashoda often thought of Him. Balarama too was missed by His loved ones. The cowherds remembered their days in the forest. The gopis kept His songs in their hearts. Radha longed to see Him again. Every memory carried both joy and sorrow. Love did not disappear with distance. Then news arrived of a great gathering. Many were traveling to Kurukshetra.

The gathering took place during an eclipse. People from many lands came to the sacred place. Krishna and Balarama were to be there too. The people of Vraja heard the news. They prepared to make the journey. Nanda led his friends and their families. Yashoda eagerly anticipated seeing her sons. The gopis also longed for the meeting. The journey was filled with hope. All wanted to see their beloved ones.

Kurukshetra was full of visitors. Families and friends greeted one another. The people from Dvaraka had arrived too. When they saw the residents of Vraja, their joy became immediately apparent. Old friends embraced one another. Questions and news from afar were exchanged. The long separation had not erased their closeness. Tears mingled with smiles. The place witnessed many reunions.

Vasudeva saw Nanda. He approached and embraced him. He remembered their long friendship. He also remembered the care Nanda had given. Nanda greeted him with love. The two could speak together again. Their families were around them. Each reunion carried its own story. But the same joy united them all. Beloved people were close again.

Then Krishna and Balarama approached Their Vraja parents. They bowed before Nanda and Yashoda. The parents embraced their beloved sons. Words were difficult with such strong feelings. Yashoda looked at the faces she had missed so much. Nanda held Them close. Tears of joy filled their eyes. For a moment the old sorrow grew quiet. Rohini and Devaki honored Yashoda. They remembered her motherly love.

The gopis also saw Krishna again. They had waited a long time for that sight. Through their eyes they brought Him into their hearts. Their joy was quiet and deep. Radha and Her friends had not forgotten Him. The memory of Vrindavan lived within them. Krishna understood their love. He approached them in a peaceful place. He asked how they had been during the separation. With gentle words He sought to comfort them.

They spoke about the long time apart. The gopis shared their attachment. For them Krishna was not a distant memory. He was the dearest presence in their lives. They remembered the Yamuna and Vraja's forests. They remembered the songs of His flute. The meeting at Kurukshetra brought them joy. At the same time it awakened longing for Vrindavan. Their love lived within that longing. Krishna listened to them attentively.

The sacred place was different from their home. Around them were many guests and festive sounds. They remembered Vraja's quiet paths. There the river and trees had accompanied their days. Radha and Her friends carried that landscape in their hearts. Their hope was tied to closeness with Krishna. Even in the great gathering they sought Him. Krishna answered them with care. Their meeting joined joy and longing. Each moment was precious to them.

The families continued to visit one another. Friends shared news and memories. Nanda and Yashoda were happy beside their sons. The people of Vraja saw their dear ones again. They knew the journey would not last forever. So they carefully treasured their moments together. Each embrace expressed a long love. Each conversation carried hope. Krishna and Balarama returned their greetings. The care among them remained alive.

Gopala-campu tells of the meeting at Kurukshetra. The Srimad-Bhagavatam also describes this pastime. The families of Vraja and Dvaraka meet there. Nanda and Yashoda embrace their sons. The gopis again see their beloved Krishna. Radha and Her friends long for Vrindavan. Joy does not erase the memory of separation. It reveals the depth of their bond. Love accompanies them on the road and at home. Thus ends this retelling of the meeting.
