Nanda entrusts little Krishna to Radha beneath a great tree as rain falls over Bhandiravana

Nanda led the cows into green Bhandiravana. Little Krishna accompanied him on the forest path. The herders let the animals drink fresh water. Nanda embraced his Son and sat beneath a tree. The day seemed quiet among leaves and grass. But dark clouds gathered quickly above the branches. Wind disturbed the stillness of the pasture.

Thunder sounded over the thick forest. The rain grew heavy, and the trees swayed. Nanda thought both of the herd and of his child. He did not want to leave the cows unprotected. He wondered how he could reach home in the storm. Krishna pressed close to him like a frightened child. A father's concern filled that moment completely.

Then Radha appeared on the wet woodland path. Nanda saw her approaching through the rain. Her presence brought him an unexpected calm. He remembered what he had heard from Garga. With tears and reverence he bowed to the visitor. In his arms Krishna still sought shelter. Radha stood before them beneath the broad canopy.

Nanda entrusted to her the child he cherished. He asked her to return Him later to Gokula. Radha received Krishna with a gentle smile. She asked Nanda to keep their secret carefully. She offered him a boon of his choosing. He asked for neither wealth nor a famous name. He wished to remain devoted to Radha and Krishna.

Radha blessed the sincerity of his heart. She told him to remember their names with joy. Nanda set out for home, trusting her care. Radha carried Krishna away from the rain. Before them appeared a garden of flowering vines. The scent of jasmine spread through the damp air. A bright pavilion adorned with jewels awaited them.

Inside the pavilion the account takes a wondrous turn. Little Krishna was no longer in Radha's arms. Krishna stood before her in a youthful form. His yellow garment shone among the flowers. A peacock feather rose above his dark hair. Radha recognized her beloved through the wonder. Amid the storm the two were together again.

Krishna spoke to Radha of their closeness. He described his joy when someone speaks Radha's name. She listened and answered with her own devotion. Their meeting in this account was hidden from the village. The woodland pavilion witnessed their conversation. The rain outside could not dim its light. Then Brahma arrived before them in reverence.

Brahma bowed before Radha and Krishna. He praised them and asked only for devotion. Radha accepted his prayer. A sacred fire was lit in the pavilion's center. Brahma guided them through a wedding ceremony. In this particular account they circled the fire. Flower garlands marked their delight.

Krishna garlanded Radha, and she garlanded Him. Brahma spoke the blessings of the rite. A shower of flowers fell from above. Songs and festive instruments were heard. Brahma bowed once more and departed. The pavilion held the memory of the ceremony. Beyond it the forest grew calm after the storm.

Nanda began this story caring for a child. His simple wish had been to keep Him safe. Radha received that trust with tenderness. Brahma ended the scene praying for devotion. Thus Bhandiravana joins a father's love with wonder. When the rain passes, the trust remains memorable. And beneath the tree lives the memory of their meeting.
